FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Thanks for your interest in my work! My art is my livelihood and what I love to create.

I’m happy to answer any questions.  Here are a few questions that come up most frequently.

For information on a particular artwork or for commissions, please drop me a message below.

Is your original artwork a painting or a photograph?
My artwork bridges photography and painting through a mixed-media process. Each piece begins with one of my original photographs, which I transform using layers of oil pastel, ink, paint, surface distressing, and other hand-applied techniques. The finished work is mounted on custom birch panels and presented like a painting. Each photograph is developed in a series of five unique variations, meaning the same image is interpreted and hand-worked in five distinct ways. Every variation is one-of-a-kind and labelled on the back (Variation 1–5).
Do you do private commissions and custom art?

My creative process is primarily guided by my own explorations and inspirations found in nature, which inform much of my landscape work. While most of my art originates from self-directed projects, I also produce portrait and collage pieces and have completed many private portrait commissions over the years. I particularly enjoy creating portrait – whether as paintings, collages, or mixed-media artworks – and welcome commissions that align with my artistic sensibilities. I’m always open to conversations with prospective clients whose ideas resonate with my creative approach.

Do you sell open edition prints?

Until now, I have focused exclusively on creating and selling original artworks – whether oil portraits or mixed-media landscape pieces. I’m now beginning to offer limited runs of open edition prints from a select group of sold-out landscape works. These high quality prints are produced on archival paper and hand-embossed to designate them as a Stev’nn Hall open edition print. Only 1 print will be offered for a limited interval. More information is available on my Prints page.

Do you work with interior designers and trade clients?

Absolutely. I regularly collaborate with interior designers and trade clients, and my work can be found in both public and private collections—including hotels, boardrooms, and corporate environments. I greatly value creative partnerships with designers who wish to incorporate my artwork into new projects, both locally and internationally. It’s always a joy when my work finds a home in a public space where it can be experienced and enjoyed by many.

Where can I see you art in person?

My artwork is represented by several galleries across Canada and the United States. In Canada, you can view my work at Muse Gallery in Toronto, Galerie LeRoyer in Montreal, Koyman Galleries in Ottawa, and at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. In the United States, my work is featured at DTR Modern Gallery locations in Boston, Palm Beach, and Washington, D.C.
